With the saxophone as the lead voice, the band performs popular songs in all styles in their own unique arrangements.  The vibraphone handles most of the chordal accompaniment with the bass and drums bringing the energy of a rock solid rhythm section.  Each member has ample opportunity to let their voice be heard while improvising.  The listener will experience fresh versions of their favorite songs in a way never heard before! The Kennett Flash and If Not For Music is proud to present KITCHEN SINK Thursday, September 25, 2025, 20257pm show | 6pm doors$20 GA* | $10 Students*$5 BYOBall ages Kitchen Sink is an ensemble of like-minded musicians, improvisors, and composers dedicated to the creation and performance of original music. The band experiments with large groups of improvising musicians playing instruments from a wide variety of instrument families. The group was originally created in 2023 to premiere new compositions by the band leader Nathan Hansen. Since its inception, Kitchen Sink has collaborated with many local artists such as Francesco Protasi, Maeve Sullivan, and most recently, the Flash’s own award-winning songwriter Nile Gay. Impressions is the band’s first album and is set to release in September 2025. It features the music of Nathan Hansen, Dominick DeStefano, and most prominently, a saxophone concerto composed by Francesco Protasi. This event features a short jazz concert from stellar local jazz artists followed by a jam session where our host invites musicians in the audience to join them on stage!   Sandy Eldred is an internationally acclaimed bassist, composer, producer, and music educator residing in Philadelphia, PA. He is known for his inventiveness and command across music genres. Eldred is the founder of record label, Each and Only, and is a recording artist for Ukrainian record label, LabelWhoAble. ​ Eldred is the leader of U.S.E. Trio and the Sandy Eldred Trio. He is an active member of the Hiruy Tirfe Quartet, Multi Mansions, the Bogdan Gumenyuk Quartet, the Nick Lombardelli Quintet, the Michael Hudson-Casanova Sextet, Heyman, Combo Theory, the Earl Phillips Big Band, and Norman David & The Eleventet.
