ABBIE GARDNER with special guest SEAN KIELY
The Kennett Flash is proud to present an evening with ABBIE GARDNER with special guest SEAN KIELY Friday, November 20, 20268pm show | 7pm doors$25 ADV* | $30 DOS* | $5 BYOBall ages Abbie Gardner is a fiery dobro player with an infectious smile. Whether performing solo or with Americana darlings Red Molly, her tales of love and loss, both gritty and sweet, are propelled by her impeccable slide guitar chops. As an award-winning songwriter, captivating vocalist, and a world-class lap style dobro player, she has an unmistakable sound all her own. This is masterfully captured on her 2022 CD “DobroSinger.” The record made it to #11 on the Billboard Blues Charts and #2 on the Folk DJ Charts, receiving rave reviews in Bluegrass Unlimited, Acoustic Guitar Magazine and American Songwriter. It’s a raw intimate recording full of blues, ballads and the ache of the unknown. It’s quite a contrast to her previous CD, which featured a co-write with Chris Stapleton and leaned on full band production. Abbie stands strong as a solo act and has opened for Lori McKenna and Martina McBride. Sean Kiely is a musician living and working in Jersey City since 2008. His work bridges Americana, folk, and the jazz-leaning edges in between — a songwriter’s songwriter and a guitarist’s guitarist, chasing beauty to surprising yet inevitable conclusions. He has opened for Richard Thompson and Sam Beam (Iron & Wine), and was a winner of the 2024 NERFA Songwriting Award. He is a frequent sideperson with dobroist singer-songwriter Abbie Gardner.———————————————- In accordance with Pennsylvania law, we are now an all-in pricing venue, so the price that you will see online for our shows include all fees. Lizzie No w/ special guest Jessye DeSilva
The Kennett Flash is proud to present LIZZIE NO in celebration of her new album “Halfsies”Thursday, March 21, 2024$20 all tickets | $5 BYOB8pm show | 7pm doors | all agesAfter a dizzying five-year span that saw the release of two stunning, eclectic albums (Hard Won and Vanity, which drew praise from the likes of Billboard and Rolling Stone) — followed by appearances at AmericanaFest, the Newport Folk Festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, and SXSW, and tours with Iron and Wine, Son Little, and Adia Victoria — Lizzie No found herself at the forefront of a new vanguard of genre-defying artists. Her new album, Halfsies (Thirty Tigers / Miss Freedomland), finds No situated among her peers while still searching for freedom — freedom from the constraints of categorization, sure, but more importantly, freedom from the depths of her own personal despair and from an increasingly violent and nightmarish American cultural and political landscape. “Some albums are stories, some are films. This album is a video game,” No says of Halfsies, which traces the journey of Miss Freedomland (a character that represents No herself and her audience), from a place of both internal and external exile to liberation. The album, No says, is meant to be immersive — these songs are to be inhabited, not just by the singer but by those who receive them.———————————————-A processing fee of $3.50 per ticket (for tickets $15.99 and under) or $5.00 (for tickets $16.00 and up) will appear on your order at check out. Trae Sheehan and Tom Hampton
The Kennett Flash is proud to present Trae Sheehan and Tom Hampton Thursday, July 16, 20267pm show | 6pm doors$20 Advanced* | $25 Day-Of-Show* | $5 BYOBall ages Tom Hampton’s years as a journeyman multi-instrumentalist and sideman are bookended by his origins as a singer and songwriter – he released his critically acclaimed debut “Our Mutual Angels” in 1997 before heeding the call as a session player based on his demonstrated adeptness on multiple instruments during those recordings. His path in the years that followed found him touring and recording with Poco, Craig Bickhardt, The Marshall Tucker Band, Robert Hazard, Dan May, Tracy Grammer and a multitude of acts who came to rely on his musical sensibilities. In yonder realm of olde, where the Appalachian mountains stand tall and proud, there lived a troubadour of nomadic descent named Trae Sheehan. Born into the rustic life of an Alpaca farm, Trae was raised in the beauty of the Appalachian valley, but his heart yearned for a life beyond the rolling hills. From a tender age, he discovered his love for the melodies that danced upon the winds, whispering secrets of the world around him. He would spend hours beneath the starry canopy, strumming his guitar and composing songs that told tales of love, loss, and the wonders of life. His voice, smooth as the air, carry his ballads far and wide.———————————————- In accordance with Pennsylvania law, we are now an all-in pricing venue, so the price that you will see online for our shows include all fees.
