Tommy McClellan-Willard is a stand up comedian who’s been seen on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and who’s debut stand up album was #1 on Amazon. He’s recording his first stand up special, 1942, in April in his hometown in Upstate NY. Jill Sobule
The Kennett Flash is proud to present JILL SOBULEJill Sobule’s work is at once deeply personal and socially conscious, seriously funny and derisively tragic. In a dozen albums spanning three decades of recording, the Denver-born songwriter/guitarist/singer has tackled such topics as the death penalty, anorexia nervosa, shoplifting, reproduction, the French Resistance, adolescent malaise, LGBTQ issues, and the Christian Right. Her hits include “I Kissed A Girl”—the first openly gay-themed song ever to crack the Billboard Top 20—and the alt-rock anthem “Supermodel” featured in the film “Clueless”. Sobule was one half of The Jill & Julia Show, providing music while actor Julia Sweeney contributes storytelling. Jill is considered a pioneer in crowdfunding and is constantly exploring and creating new models for artists in an ever-changing music industry. Her latest record is “Nostalgia Kills”, produced by Ben Lee and released on her own Pinko Records label. Jill’s theater credits include a musical adaptation of the Broadway classic “Yentl”, “Prozak and the Platypus”, and “Times Square”. Her latest, “F*ck 7th Grade”, was postponed due to Covid, but was performed and filmed for three days at a make-shift drive-in over the Summer. And Dylan Walker, an up-and-coming bassist from the New Castle, Delaware scene, well versed in classic rock and traditional blues genres. He started playing the clarinet at the age of 9 years old and later transitioned to the alto saxophone. Anthony studied music at Columbia Community College, Columbia Maryland and studied with the most influential saxophone instructors in the Baltimore and Washington DC areas. He composes, arranges and is the executive producer of his original music. Anthony’s original music infuses the rhythms of Blues, R&B, Pop, and Jazz elements. He started his musical career performing in the late 1990’s at open mic jazz clubs and playing as a sideman saxophonist with various jazz and blues band in the Washington DC area and Los Angeles, California.
