UNFORTUNATELY, WE MUST POSTPONE FRIDAY’S DUB C SWING EVENT UNTIL 2026. Dub C Swing is an instrumental band from West Chester, Pennsylvania. With the saxophone as the lead voice, the band performs popular songs in all styles in their own unique arrangements. The vibraphone handles most of the chordal accompaniment with the bass and drums bringing the energy of a rock solid rhythm section. The Kennett Flash and If Not For Music is proud to present KITCHEN SINK Thursday, September 25, 2025, 20257pm show | 6pm doors$20 GA* | $10 Students*$5 BYOBall ages Kitchen Sink is an ensemble of like-minded musicians, improvisors, and composers dedicated to the creation and performance of original music. The band experiments with large groups of improvising musicians playing instruments from a wide variety of instrument families. The group was originally created in 2023 to premiere new compositions by the band leader Nathan Hansen. Since its inception, Kitchen Sink has collaborated with many local artists such as Francesco Protasi, Maeve Sullivan, and most recently, the Flash’s own award-winning songwriter Nile Gay. Impressions is the band’s first album and is set to release in September 2025. It features the music of Nathan Hansen, Dominick DeStefano, and most prominently, a saxophone concerto composed by Francesco Protasi. The ensemble incorporates earthy acoustic tones with electronic sounds to create a powerful mix of the past and the present. Jonathan’s compositions process his life as a black man, a father, a husband, and an artivist who believes in the power of music to illuminate challenging and complex societal issues. He believes music creates a space for bridges to be built, joy to be spread, and norms to be challenged. The Nolan Wible Octet
The Kennett Flash is proud to present The Nolan Wible Octet Nolan Wible is an active in demand trumpet player residing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His versatility of sound and style has allowed him the opportunity to play in a variety of settings from jazz groups, pop/rock bands to churches and orchestras. Nolan has performed across Louisiana with artists like the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Larry Sieberth and Doug Stone. As a side man and music arranger, Nolan can be heard on six different albums and is a featured soloist on Bryan Tuk`s “Life in High Gravity”. Nolan leads his own jazz octet that is routed in the music of the Dave Pell Octet. They bring fresh, inspired takes to jazz standards, while keeping classic energy that people will be familiar with. The concept of the group was inspired by such albums as You and Lee from Lee Konitz, and Birth of the Cool from Miles Davis. The nuanced writing on such albums compelled Nathan Hansen and Francesco Protasi to create an ensemble as a means for enhancing their composition/arranging and exercising their prolificacy. The result does not disappoint.
